Design, for the health of people and our planet.

"If you’re thinking about engaging with Laura, you’re wasting time.
Do it."

Mark Elliott, Head - CivTech Division, Scottish Government
Hello, I’m Laura.

I'm an award-winning design strategist, creative facilitator, and coach with two decades of experience spanning the creative, commercial, and science and technology industries.

My work focuses on addressing the complex, systemic health and environmental innovation challenges our world is facing. I bring practical and strategic design skills, a commercial mindset, creative approaches, and thought leadership: helping unlock imaginations and foster new ways of thinking and doing.

My mission is to use my skills and experience to create a world that's better for people and planet.

On health and wellbeing projects I've co-created with Impact on Urban Health, The Health Foundation, NHS, technology startups, as well as major brands like Nike, Sweaty Betty, and Wellcome.

In the design for planet space, I’ve mapped and identified future commercial and social opportunities for WWF, co-created a sustainability strategy for the hiking brand Merrell, co-created B2B and B2C services for Carbon Neutral Newcastle, and worked with Cards for Life to define their service offering and business model.

Earlier this year I collaborated with the Design Council on their new Green Design Skills Blueprint (published June 2025), ensuring it delivers the best new practices and thinking into an accessible and easy-to-use format. This piece of work is a pivotal part of the Design Council’s mission to upskill 1 million designers in Green Skills by 2030.

Previously I co-authored the Design Council’s Systemic Design Toolkit, (published 2024), which focuses on Design for Planet.

I am currently volunteering with East London Waterworks Park to explore how we can onboard Nature into their organisational model, culture and future experience and policies.

I’m trained as a Climate Fresk facilitator and a Fellow with the 2024 Bio-Leadership Fellowship, a global network of leaders committed to advancing better forms of human progress.

Artist practice
Alongside my design work, I am also a practicing artist. I lead participatory and speculative futures experiments, including co-creating and running Mossibilities—art and ecology experiences inspired by moss.

**Open to Strategic Advisory & NED Roles **

I am looking for a Trustee or Non-Executive Director role with organisations working in or across the arts, science, design, futures, regenerative futures and nature.

Please check out the thought-piece '
Artists in the Boardroom' for my perspective on the value and opportunity for embracing creativity in the workplace.

I co-authored this with Annalise Lewis.

"Laura was also so much more than her role.

She builds the energy in the room, makes connections to people, understands what they need
and transforms insights into something bigger, better and more purposeful.

I would employ her again in a heartbeat."

Eleanor Ford,
Former Director at The Good Lab. Now Chief People Officer at ZINC VC

Design is a 'frontline' green skill, it leads the way in creating products, buildings
and places that use fewer resources, reuses them or even grows them, as well as being a
green skill [that can] make sustainable living the easy and desirable choice.
